BARBARA DANE

Legendary Blues and Folk SingerBarbara Dane's remarkable blues, jazz and folk music career spans more than 60 years. Her first concert was in 1947, sharing a folk stage with Pete Seeger. By 1959, she sang hot jazz on TV with Louis Armstrong and toured with Jack Teagarden. For a year she sang blues with Willie Dixon and Memphis Slim as her back-up, and once took over Muddy Waters' band for a week when he became ill. In 1971 she sang before tens of thousands on the Washington Mall in protest of the Vietnam War. She recorded mainstream jazz with Earl "Fatha" Hines, blues with Lightnin' Hopkins, and traditional jazz with her own band.

"Dane's always been a role model and a hero of mine, musically and politically." -Bonnie Raitt

Guitar String Corrosion Test - Time Lapse Photography

We wanted to see how our strings would tarnish or corrode in comparison to un-coated guitar strings. So we took a set of Cleartone strings and a set of un-coated Everly strings and submerged them both in water while taking a still photo every 60 seconds with a GoPro camera. After a couple days in the water corrosion was noticeable on the Cleartone strings but nothing near the amount of corrosion that was found ion the un-coated set of guitar strings. We also did this experiment live at the 2012 NAMM show and the results were very similar.

Cleartone strings protect against sweat and corrosion and they're designed to last 3 to 5 times longer than an un-coated set of guitar strings. Yes, they're a little more expensive than un-coated strings but if you would rather pick up your guitar and play it rather than change the strings, buy Cleartone!

At ABC Music Store and Academy, we stock Cleartone strings.
